B Team | Match Reports 17th January 2009 Opposition: Offchurch A
Final Score: 12 - 59 (win)
Players Player: -
Well we had the long trip out to Offchurch.... Bulkington B team took the court (well you say the B Katie had flu, Laura had tonsilitus and larynjitus, Courtney was doing some exciting uni stuff and Sue was drinking guiness in Dublin) so that meant 4 of the B team were unavailable. Therefore C team players helped out - amazing Ali, krazy Kim and awesome Amy stepped up to fill the voids even though they had a game themselves that day. Finally our new secret Wetton weapon Claire came out of retirement to show them how its done. Tracey, Mandie and SJ were not too concerned about having so many people missing they knew that the fantastic C team would step up to the mark. After beating Offchurch quite convincingly last time with only conceeding 4 goals they took the court with confidence and it showed SJ and Ali played as if they had played together all season popping the shots in, working the defence hard and controlling the circle. Claire played excellently and never showed any sign of slowing down - she slotted in as if she had always played there. Tracey played her role brilliantly controlling the attack and feeding some lovely balls into Ali. At half time Bulkington were 25 - 7 up and even though the score was great, Offchurch were still a tough oppossion. Bulkington's defence worked tirelessly, Amy showed her amazing leaping skills tipping and intercepting balls you never thought she would get. Mandie and Kim worked well as if they had always played together and Mandie marked her shooter expertly making it very difficult for her to get a good position to shoot. Baggy (aka Kim) was brilliant bringing the ball up court, snatching rebounds and making her fair share of interceptions. They made it so hard the 9 goals which were conceded up until the third quarter were excellent shots shot from distance. Back to B Team's 'match reports' |
