C Team | Match Reports

Opposition:                 Harbury B

Final Score:                26 - 72 (win)

Two wins out of two for the team, who played solidly and worked great together scoring lots and lots of goals!!

Bulkington scored goal after goal past Harbury to create a fantastic goal difference which may be an advantage later on in the season.  Harbury unfortunately had 6 players, so losing their WD, but they still created difficulties for Bulkington and after the first quarter it seemed like it would be a much closer game.  But Harbury's game plan became predictable as the game went on, with lots of long balls down the court, to the WA and C.  This allowed Bulkington to pick this up and use it to their advantage to get interceptions and more Bulkington goals!!  The defence read this well and Rhian, Kim, Jackie and Amy picked up interception after interception.  A big thanks and a great game for Rhian for stepping into the team as Jo was unable to play.  Also thanks to Tracey and Emily for coming along to reserve.  Ali and Lyndsey worked well together scoring goal after goal, further increasing Bulkington's advantage!  The attack worked the ball around brilliantly with Lisa and Amy remaining patient and not rushing the ball into the circle.  They were backed up well by Jackie and Kim, once again showing the fantastic teamwork ethic that the team have started playing with this season.

The second half of the game saw a Bulkington injury and two Harbury injuries, with the common denominator being Lyndsey!! Ali hurt her ankle so went off for half a quarter and was replaced by Tracey, who as always shot extremey accurately!  She luckily wasn't injured too badly and was able to come back on the next quarter. Unfortunately for Harbury their GD and GK proceeded to get injured as well, but nobody too seriously.

Overall it was a really enjoyable and friendly game and a great team effort by Bulkington!  Well played!
