Bulkington approached this game quite dubiously knowing their first fixture against Highway was an extemely close encounter.  Highway needed at least a point against Bulkington to secure second place and promotion to Division Two, so would be going into the game fighting.  Bulkington were also without Amz who was unfortunately on crutches and out for the rest of the season.

 

The first quarter was extremely tense and Bulkington were behind at the start.  They started quite slowly and apprehensively getting used to the altered team with Clare at Centre.  Unfortunately Clare felt unwell and so after two quarters swopped to WA with Lisa.  A big thankyou to her for playing, as immediately after she had a game for the D Team.

 

The defense were their usual fantastic selves, with some great interceptions from JAckie, Jo and KIm.  After the first quarter the attack began to get used to each other and worked the ball around the circle well, with some great balls into Ali and Lindsey.

 

Half way through the game there was some freak weather with hail storms and rain! It made both the ball and court slippy, with Jackie taking a tumble, but luckily she was able to get back up and play on!

 

As the game progressed it remained close with Bulkington taking an edge which they managed to sustain to the end. Lisa got a well deserved Player of the match,playing possibly the best she has all season, which showed tremendously when she moved to Centre at half time.  She held the attack together and worked tirelessly.
