This was always going to be a difficult fixture with the highly rated Yendys having won there previous 2 matches, and Bulkington having not yet started their fixtures.

After a nervy start, which saw the girls a little shocked at the pace of the game, we ended the first quarter 5 - 12 down. We set our target for the second quarter to get 12 goals and not conceive more that 18.   Holly had an excellent quarter making a couple of excellent interceptions with Issy converting them.

The half time break saw us 14 - 19 down and still very much in touch. During the third quarter we chipped away at Yendys lead with some excellent tight marking from the defence and great work in attack. The excellent work rate and determination saw us enter the final quarter 20 - 24 down.  

The ball went from end to end with neither team converting there chances.  Cezaria made several crucial interceptions and Lucy settled in after a nervy start, ending the game very strongly, forcing errors in Yendys attack. Mel and Issy played well in the circle together, benefitting from some good feeds from Ellis . We pulled back to level 29 – 29 with around half a minute left on the clock. Both teams had opportunities to score before Charlie and Emily ’s tight marking in the circle result in an interception which we converted just before the final whistle sounded.
