A Team | Match Reports 6th March 2010 Opposition: Ernesford A
Final Score: 39 - 16 (win)
Players Player: n/a
Bulkington A v Ernsford A Won 39 -16 ( last time it was 31 - 15) We were HOT!!!
Writing a match report with so many positives is a good place to be. Our first game for a month... shall we have another month off....
Bulkington got off to a flying start and soon found themselves 3 -0 up... -by half time they led 10-3... things were looking good. All the injury scares on Tuesday night appeared to have been patched up by the oldies .. Mandie's creaking neck - Roses dodgy knee and Liz... well which bit hasn't fallen off this season!!!
The second quarter Ernesford started in a very positive fashion and were leading that particular quarter for a while... however, some fab interceptions from virtually all the team.. worked wonders and by half time the lead had been stretched to 19 -8. With the oldies still physically intact all was still looking rosy!!
Well, who can say that the third quarter is sometimes not a good one... Ladies... today it was our best.. we won it 12 - 4. The shooters were perfection personified - the defensive trio were a unit and Andrea and Faye provided the crucial link between both ends. 31- 12.
The final quarter... maybe just a touch of tiredness creeping in and the timing slightly out.. as Liz was heard to say ' I've gone tooooooooo soooooon!!! - some would say she went years ago!!!
The team continued to perform - the attack of Rosie, Yvonne, Faye and Andrea played some marvellous netball - so much movement around the circle - the feeds were good and the shooting fabulous. The score ended 39 -16.
Overall a good performance.- Rosie deserves a mention - she defended all the way down court - and on several occasions intercepted a ball which led to a goal.
Abi - she just kept popping up - tips/ interceptions- too many to count. Andrea- great again.. when isn't she - again defensive play brilliant and always available in attack.
Faye - on occasions may not have received the ball- but did a good job of drawing her player away - some lovely feeds into Yvonne and good calling. Yvonne - totally dominated her opponent- always available and good confident shooting.
MMMM .... Mandie and Liz - enough said!!!! One could say an old married couple ' Listen to me'.she said.. a good performance for them.
One always has to remember a goal defence is often only as good as the Goal keeper behind giving direction.
Good communication and team work were the ingredients for Bulkington's success today. Well Done Everyone.
