We were nervous about todays game as Stacie had to play up for the A Team, so we lost both our captain and goal defence. Rhian was asked to play up and did more than a brilliant job of filling stacies trainers!
During the first quarter our nerves showed and it was just 6-6. We felt we should have been ahead by this point, but with having Rhian playing and also Jenny (as she was in London last week), the score was understandable. The court was also slippy and namely Amz managed to slip a few times as she got the ball, this meant the team as a whole were playing quite 'nervous' netball. As we got our composure together from the second quarter on there was no looking back and we continually pulled away from Alvis. (And with Jo's scoring pulling away even more as we managed to go from 24 goals to 30 at one point!!)
The game was far from easy. Alvis's tactics of zoning, almost confused our team as to who was free and who wasn't. Tracey commanded the centre court with authority and experience and was our well deserved Player of the Match. Both Kim and Rhian played blinders in the circle, getting tip after tip.
SJ once again had a great game with some fabulous shots, and this week Sue looked much more settled in the GA position, with some great shooting, great interceptions and wise words 'GET IT, ITS NOT GONE OUT!!!!!' The attack as a whole worked well, with some great balls and triangles from Jenny and Tracey.
Overall a solid game from the team, and a great two wins out of two!!
