Arriving at Hinckley a little late!! As Rhian played for the B team and Fran and Jackie for the A showed what quality the C team has. Determind to put last weeks loss against Leamington behind us we brought out our secret weapon along Ali "the don" McHugh not as a player but as a coach and what a brilliant result she helped us make despite being on the side lines. Ali gave us little pointers and tips along the way to help us win the game, plus she came armed in her kit if we needed a little boost.
 
We had superb support for an away game C teams lucky charm Spud was there and many of the A team Yvonne, Rosie, Faye and Andrea and former C team legend Amy (sorry if I have missed anyone). Due to Clare suffering from illness we had a retrial which meant Lynz " judith charmers" Kennedy was brought in as WA and Lisa moved to C.
 
We never underestimated our opponents who had some very strong players but we worked hard to get the result. Kerrie despite a dodgy knee played brilliantly feeding Fran well who was matched for height with her GK. The shooting partnership worked well, Kerrie had her eye in and Fran was there to pick up the pieces if she missed. But with accurate feeds from Lynz and Lisa the ball went in easily and Fran shot superbly. Lynz and Lisa worked well together providing alot of movement in attack and with the support of the defence Jacks and Jo the ball moved easily around the court.
 
Jo was back off her holidays meant a swap around in defence from the week before meaning Rhian was moved to GK and in Ali's wise words 'was the best player in the team for that position' and she was awesome.... her go go gadget arms intercepted and tipped loads of balls, causing us to only to conceed 10 goals. Excellent work with Jo, Jacks and Rhian resulted only one goal being conceded in the second quarter.  Jackie had a very nippy WA but worked well with Lisa to pin her down. Unfortunately Jacks had a sore finger from the week before so we brought Charlie on for the final quarter. Chinny slotted in well and provided fresh legs on a very hot day. We also had Becky on the side lines ready to go if needed.
 
From last week our fitness improved a little despite the hot temperatures (who'd of thought this was a winter sport) and we moved better around the court. We won the game 40 - 10. A big thanks to the supporters and reserves.

(Note to team: next time we need more sweets for the supporters !!!! and we need to remember to put in our McFlurry orders to Faye and Amz!)

On a final note congrats to Fran and Rhian who managed to get in the west midlands colleges third team despite only being first years. Well done girls
