Bulkington D team travelled to Alan Higgs on a Tuesday night, where they were playing their rearranged fixture against Stockton B.  The team hoped the rain would hold off, however, just before 7pm the rain slowly began.

The first half Bulkington settled in comfortably, with the ball flowing nicely down the court and Angie (GK) and Claire (GD) putting pressure on the opposition in the circle causing them to miss a lot of shots. The rain progressively got heavier, so the playing conditions became very hard. However, Bulkington held their lead in the first quarter, with the score at 6-1.

The team stayed the same going into the second half, but the weather became worse again. Stockton upped their game going into the second quarter, and came out proving they were not going to lose without a fight.  The opposition managed to get more shots in this quarter, with the score at 14 -7 to Bulkington at the end of the second quarter.

After a team talk at half time, and no changes in the line up, Bulkington went out knowing that they had to stop making mistakes if they wished to hold of Stockton. However, Stackton had the same idea, and improved again in the third quarter, slowly catching Bulkington up. The score ended at 19 – 14 to Bulkington at the end of the third quarter.

There was a slight change in the team going into the last quarter, with Becky (WA) and Emilie (WD) swapping roles. With the courts now like an ice rink from the rain, the 4th quarter saw both sides working very hard. The final score ended up at 25 – 19 to Bulkington; a well earned victory for the team!

After Angie Pallet had a fantastic game she was rightfully awarded Players player by the opposition for the first time this season.
